Don't worry. Reporters covering retro stuff always have to stick a snarky comment in there somewhere about how some aspect of the item was terrible and shouldn't be replicated/recreated. It's something of a trend in the media, as it's apparently cool to put down the past. They also need a lighter note to end their report with, and they're too lazy to write a good conclusion.

Hey congrats on the coverage! To us 8-bit may be considered retro, but for a kid who doesn't have access to a PS3, XBOX 360, Wii, 1080p, HD, Quad Core duo..... it would be super cool. Just hope that the media doesn't spin the duck hunt gun into a story about terrorist training camps in virtual reality. ;)

Yeah, 8 Bit music totally rocks, you can't do it without some awesome Megaman style jams. Its kind of a surprising comment from NPR with the growing movement for hacking for 8 bit for music and art purposes. Rock on.
